In the past, I used Adobe Photoshop Elements 2 so Elements 8 is quite an upgrade for me. Many of the features included in this program are easy to follow & lots of fun to use. You can read about most of them in Amazon's product description. Others have me stumped. I know I could figure it out if I had enough time. I'd appreciate it if a good manual was included so I can more easily understand the process.
Some layouts, frames, etc. are marked with a gold ribbon which means if I want to use them I need to pay for an upgrade. Adobe, please don't tease me with them, either leave them out or include them in the purchase price.
I had fun using the recompose tool & found it fascinating & mind-boggling, a very nice tool...but when I experimented by removing an unwanted 3rd person from the photo & using recompose, I couldn't quite get the editing to work correctly. I watched a tutorial video, but it didn't address the problem I had.
All in all, Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 is a nice program. There are many editing features a novice will find easy to use; others that won't be so easy, but with time, patience & an instructional manual it'd be doable.
Through Amazon's Vine program, I recently reviewed a nice photo editing program, PhotoPlus X3 Digital Studio, which comes with an informative user's manual making the more difficult editing features easier for me to use. PhotoPlus X3 also comes with a guarantee.
Disappointing,

This sofware has many good quality editing features. But the killer for me is that you can't print in high resolution. The highest it allows is 720,l not enough for professional quality prints. I've owned this for over three months now. I periodically call Adobe (avg. wait time on the phone is over 1 hour) and their answer is always the same; they are aware of the problem but don't know when it will be fixed.

My daughter had used older versions of Adobe Photoshop Elements but she needed to upgrade with a new program. I ordered Version 8 for her and she loves it. She installed it in her laptop with no problems. She said it is "awesome".

I've been using the old Adobe PhotoDeluxe Home Edition for many years now. My needs are simple and I needed a simple product to use for basic photo editing and this one fits the bill, price-wise and for ease of use.
